We use Microsoft software. When it happens our only solution is to reinstall or repair the database engine. It was posted in the AutoDesk forums that the following registry edit below will fix the problem. My concern is that this change may impact Microsoft in some manner. Can someone confirm if this change is the best choice and whether it will impact Microsoft products.
Hopefully someone will create a permanent fix soon so that we don't have to edit the registry in the future. What appeared to have caused the 'Install the latest bit version of Microsoft Access Database Engine ' scenario was a change to this specific key:.

Sorry for all the inconveniences it may have caused on your side. We may need some more time to deploy a similar environment and test on your side. But here is a tip for you that backup the current registry and if the edited key cause any other influences for Office suite or Access or other things, simply import the backed-up registry to restore everything back. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Are you also running Access on the machine? I have not recently used MS Access, but it is installed. I have used it in the past. MS Access has always done well with no related problems that I can remember. I need it for when I must do numerous database edits since the AutoCAD Electrical software is very limited for database modifications. The only ones not still getting the problem above have hacked the registry as I listed.
I am willing to do that edit, but do not want to create future problems for myself or our IT group. Changing the key back to the original value just before an update is unlikely.
